Our Story
“Skiing, for me, first revolves around snowstorms / powder days. Secondly those powder days transition into skied out conditions. Before and after that is groomed snow, or even frozen granular.” - Quin Vaillancourt, Founder
Each ski is crafted with a visible S-glass composite top layer, highlighting the blend of hardwood and softwood within. The hardwood in the core enhances durability and provides a secure base for binding mounts, forming a robust perimeter around the ski. Meanwhile, the softwood is strategically used across the main field of the ski, offering exceptional lightness and absorbing vibrations for a smoother ride.
Since 2013, IDK’s founder—a dedicated craftsman and mountain enthusiast—has designed, built, and rigorously tested each generation of skis. With each iteration, the construction process, flex pattern, and shaping are thoughtfully refined to elevate skiing performance across a range of conditions.
IDK skis are designed to thrive in the full spectrum of alpine environments. From exhilarating powder days in fresh snowstorms to well-tracked slopes and even groomed, icy runs, IDK’s two-pair quiver delivers versatility, balance, and responsiveness in every scenario nature presents.
